APC National Chairman, Adamu Reacts To Call For His Resignation

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has reacted to the call for his resignation from office.

Recall that the National Vice Chairman of the APC North West, Salihu Lukman, in a statement released last Friday called for the resignation of Adamu.

Lukman in the statement also appealed to the party’s leadership to fix an emergency national convention, to allow the party to elect another National Chairman.

The APC vice chairman also called for the resignation of the National Secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore.

Lukman noted that he made the call following the emergence of Bola Tinubu as President-Elect and his Vice, Kashim Shettima who is also a Muslim, adding that it is important for the new National Chairman of the party to be a Christian.

He also emphasised that the National Chairman could be retained in North-Central.

But in an interview with Daily Trust, Adamu said he does not have time to take on Lukman for calling for his resignation.

He further stated that he has more important issues to think about.

Adamu said, “I don’t have time to take on Salihu Lukman on that. I have more important issues to think about, talk about, and attend to. I don’t want to condescend to that level.”
