Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo, popularly known as Mama G, has spoken out in response to allegations made against her by a widow and her daughter in a viral online video.

The video, which surfaced a few days ago, features a widow and her daughter accusing the actress of acquiring a piece of family land without their approval. According to them, the land in question originally belonged to the widow’s late husband and was sold to Ozokwo by their uncle, despite their ownership documents still being in their possession.

In a statement released on Tuesday, June 3, Ozokwo clarified that she legally purchased the land back in 2010. She explained that the sale was initiated by the supposed landowner, who reached out to her real estate agent to help find a buyer.

The actress said the issue only arose in 2024 when the previous owner allegedly attempted to resell a portion of the already purchased land without her knowledge.

“I got word of what was happening, went there, and secured the property with a fence. Suddenly, I see them online accusing me of taking the only land left to them by their husband and father,” she said.

Ozokwo labeled the public accusations as acts of blackmail, deceit, and defamation. Emphasizing the value of her reputation, she announced plans to pursue legal action.

“I have chosen to handle this through the proper legal channels. It’s unfortunate that some bloggers circulated the video without verifying the facts. To those involved, I say—see you in court,” she concluded.

Videos of the widow and her daughter’s claims, alongside Ozokwo’s official response, continue to circulate online.
