The Chairman of Atlas Oranto Petroleum, Arthur Eze, has described President Bola Tinubu as “God’s gift to Nigeria”, while also making an appeal to the South-East to rally behind the President for the sake of unity and national development.
Speaking in a forthcoming State House documentary marking Tinubu’s second year in office, Eze described the President as a visionary leader raised by divine providence to steer Nigeria through a critical period.
“God doesn’t make mistakes. That man, Tinubu, was created for a purpose. God gave him the power to change lives,” the oil tycoon said. “He has no enemies. He is a unifier. He speaks with humility and honesty—that’s why we admire him.”
Eze, drawing from his experience during the Nigerian Civil War and deep ties to the South-East, spotlighted Tinubu’s unprecedented efforts in promoting inclusivity and development in the region.
MEANWHILE, the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has warned President Bola Tinubu to be wary of promises of support by those it described as “self-acclaimed Igbo leaders” in his 2027 re-election bid.
The group was particular about the promises made by Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, and other Igbo leaders, insisting that the choice of the Presidential candidate for 2027 ultimately rests with the people and not political figures.
The MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu, in a statement yesterday in Enugu, told the President that “these individuals do not represent the true will of the Igbo people,” adding: “Their influence will not translate into genuine voter support.”
Madu warned that there was a need to understand the sentiments and aspirations of the Igbo grassroots rather than rely on established political figures who would not resonate with the broader community.
He added: “There is an ongoing dialogue about representation and political strategy within the South-East region as the next general elections approach.
“MASSOB is reminding President Bola Tinubu that the South-East region will not support his bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election because his administration has neglected our region, leading to significant pain, agony, and feelings of marginalisation among our people.
“MASSOB laments that the region deserves better representation and attention from the Federal Government, and we believe that the current administration has failed to address the needs and concerns of the Ndigbo.”
The statement added that the ongoing discontent and political dynamics within the South-East are overwhelming, stressing that Ndigbo are seeking greater recognition and support in national governance.
It criticised the “blatant arrogance” exhibited by Soludo during Tinubu’s recent state visit to Anambra, explaining that the hurried promises were a show of desperation in the attempt to secure a second term in office as governor.
