Tory Lanez Transferred to New Prison Following Brutal Stabbing

Tory Lanez has been transferred from the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi to the California Men’s Colony (CMC) in San Luis Obispo after he was brutally stabbed 14 times by a fellow inmate earlier this month.

Lanez was reportedly assaulted by 41-year-old Santino Casio, a convicted murderer already serving a life sentence.

“He was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole for second-degree murder, first degree attempted murder, personal use of a dangerous or deadly weapon, and inflict [sic] great bodily injury,” said a statement from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

Casio has been moved to “restricted housing” while the incident is under investigation. Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, is serving a 10-year bid to shoot Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Casio has been locked up at California’s Tehachapi facility since 2004 after being transferred from L.A. County Jail.

Lanez’s legal rep, Crystal Morgan, says he’s on the mend physically but still shaken mentally after the sudden prison transfer. The move has pulled him away from the support network he was just starting to build behind bars but CMC is reportedly safer.
