Renowned Nollywood filmmaker and actor, Ugezu J. Ugezu, has shared a cautionary tale aimed at Nigerians planning to relocate abroad in search of greener pastures.
Taking to his Instagram page, Ugezu recounted the story of a Nigerian medical doctor who gave up his practice in Nigeria to move to the United States. In preparation for the move, the doctor reportedly sold his clinic with hopes of building a better life overseas.
However, upon arriving in the U.S., circumstances forced him to take up a job as a butcher in a meat shop just to survive.
Ugezu used this real-life example to warn others against making hasty decisions to relocate without fully understanding the challenges they might face abroad.
His words …
“In the name of JAPA, a practicing medical doctor in Nigeria sold his clinic and relocated to the US. Finally, he is now in a US city. Guess what? He now works as a butcher in a meat shop, hiding from Nigerians to avoid being noticed…FOR HOW LONG?
