TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé follows the lives of international couples who applied for a K-1 visa, allowing them to enter the U.S. to be with their American partners. These couples must marry within 90 days or risk their foreign partner returning to their country. The show has featured several successful couples since its premiere in 2014, but there have been just as many couples who have been challenged by religious and cultural differences that have made them decide to call it quits.
There have been several reality TV spinoff thanks to 90 Day Fiancé’s success. 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way sees Americans relocating to their partner’s native country; 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, follows past couples after they marry, and 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, tracks couples who met online but have yet to begin the k-1 visa process.
However, fans have started to question the authenticity of 90 Day Fiancé and its numerous spinoffs after a cameraman—who happened to be at an airport—was seen filming what appeared to be a new couple reshooting the same scene multiple times. This incident has left many wondering: just how real is 90 Day Fiancé?

A Cameraman Spots 90 Day Fiancé Scene Being Shot Multiple Times, Making Fans Question The Show’s Authenticity
Fans of 90 Day Fiancé and its several spinoffs might be saddened to hear that the show might not be entirely authentic. In April, reporter and TMZ podcast host Charlie Cotton posted a TikTok showing what looked to be a new 90 Day Fiancé couple meeting for the very first time at an airport, only to reshoot their initial first meeting more than once.
The video showed a man holding a large Brazilian flag and embracing his partner where they share a kiss. “This gotta be 90 Day Fiancé,” Charlie is heard stating in the background as the couple are seen being filmed. However, we then see the same couple filming their initial greeting again.
This time, the video shows the woman walking down the escalator as the same man waves the Brazilian flag, waiting for her. She covers her mouth with her hands, showing that she is in shock to see him in person for the very first time. Again, they embrace before she is made to walk back up the escalator to act out the same scene. In Charlie’s video, the couple is seen having to perform the scene two more times.
“Darn, they’re going for a fourth take,” Charlie states.
The couple is then seen heading toward baggage claim, with cameras continuing to follow them. They’re also shown participating in a joint interview—something fans will recognize in the beloved series, typically filmed after a couple’s first meeting at the airport.

After TMZ host Charlie posted the shocking video showcasing an alleged 90 Day Fiancé couple having to do multiple retakes, fans flooded his comment section expressing frustration and disappointment with their favorite reality TV series.
“@TLC we want authentic. Let’s go back to the good ol days,” a TikTok user wrote underneath Charlie’s video
“Noooo all the 90 day fiance secrets are coming out,” another person wrote.
“So the first take isn’t real that makes me mad,” a user shared.

It’s certainly upsetting that one of the show’s most anticipated moments of an international couple seeing each other for the first time, may not be as genuine as it appears on TV. In fact, this revelation has led some fans to question whether the couples’ awkwardness or apparent lack of chemistry during joint confessionals is more about the frustration of having to film the same scene over and over again.
“Well that explains all the ones that show little excitement, because they were probably on their 10th take and over it,” someone wrote underneath Charlie’s video.
Fans also noticed that there was, surprisingly, only one cameraman filming the entire scene. So, having this couple film multiple takes may just mean that the cameraman wanted to capture the moment from several different angles. Still, what viewers will watch on their screens may or may not be the real initial greeting.

A New 90 Day Fiancé Spinoff Premieres This Month Titled 90 Day: Hunt For Love With Returning Faces
90 Day Fiancé is adding another brand-new spinoff to their lineup with the premiere of 90 Day: Hunt for Love. Set to air on May 26th, the new series follows returning fan-favorites and new faces as they go on the hunt for love a second time around.
According to TLC, these single reality stars will all live together at a “singles-only retreat” where the will get to know each other and see if sparks fly.
“Over the course of the two-week retreat, the 90 Day singles will get to know each other as well as some new hopefuls looking for love. They’ll work through past relationship issues and try new dating techniques, guided by professional dating coaches and a fun-loving events coordinator.”
The new spinoff seems to have a similar set up to 90 Day: The Last Resort, which follows 90 Day couples staying at a wellness retreat where they attempt to fix their relationships with the help of professionals. The show just completed its second season and seems to be a hit with fans.
It’ll be interesting to watch returning 90 Day stars, Colt Johnson, Chantel Everett, Cortney Reardanz, Rob Warne, Tiffany Franco, Usman “Soja Boy” Umar, and former couple Tim Malcolm and Jeniffer Tarazona, mingling with each other and with new additions.
A trailer for the new series sees these 90 Day alums getting hot and heavy with new people. Additionally, the trailer sees Jeniffer, who starred on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 2, conflicted between a man named Cole and returning cast member Rob. “Like, I wanna marry Cole. But I wanna f*** Rob,” she shares in a confessional.
There is also tons of drama between the men as they appear to want to go after the same woman. The trailer ends with a shocking scene that sees a cast member on a stretcher and heading into an ambulance to the hospital.
