The suspects were identified as Maxwell Mathew and Samuel Mathew, both from Abraka in Delta State.

A statement by the Edo Police Public Relations Officer, CSO Moses Joel Yamu said the arrest followed a distress call regarding the activities of “some suspects at a hotel within the Division’s area of responsibility”.

The PPRO said acting on intelligence, the operatives raided the hotel and arrested the two suspects.

The statement added that a Mercedes Benz GLC 300 with a Delta State Registration number ASB 884 AS, two face masks, one locally made shotgun and two live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.

“During preliminary investigation, the two suspects confessed to have robbed one Patrick Omoregie of the said vehicle, an iPhone 16plus, crypto currency value yet unknown, and the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand naira cash.

“To reiterate the Police’s collaboration with neighbouring commands in the fight against crime, the suspects would be handed over to the Delta State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution,” the statement added.
