Omoni Oboli excited as her new film 'Love In Every Word' gets re-uploaded on YouTube

Chime Chinedu Abumchukwu, the founder of Ou Travel and Tour, has accused Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli of using his video footage without permission in her movie Love In Every Word.

Abumchukwu claims that video clips showcasing Awka, Amawbia, and Osumenyi—locations known for their rich cultural heritage—were taken from his work and included in the film without proper credit. His allegations surfaced after the movie was removed from YouTube due to a separate copyright infringement complaint filed by another user, Chinonso Obiora Skyberry.

Although Abumchukwu was not responsible for the takedown, his investigation into the matter led him to discover that his own footage had been used without consent. He has since called on Oboli to acknowledge his contributions and respect intellectual property rights.

“This is about recognizing and respecting the work of content creators,” Abumchukwu stated. “Filmmakers should ensure that all materials used in their productions are properly credited, especially when they come from independent creators.”

Despite the situation, Abumchukwu admitted that he feels honored that his footage was included in the movie. However, he remains firm in his demand for proper acknowledgment, emphasizing the importance of crediting creatives who contribute to storytelling and cultural promotion.

The incident has sparked discussions about copyright concerns in Nollywood and the broader entertainment industry. It highlights the need for fair treatment of content creators and adherence to intellectual property laws.

As of now, Oboli has not publicly responded to the accusations. It remains to be seen whether she will address the claims or take action to resolve the issue.
