Why RHOBH's Erika Jayne Is Celebrating Anora’s Big Win At The 2025 Oscars

Erika Jayne has always been a performer. Whether that’s dishing out her truth to her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars or taking the stage with her music career, the reality TV star was born for the spotlight.

While several Real Housewives stars have ventured into music, none have found the same level of success that Erika has with her singing career. With her dance hits making their way to the top of the Billboard charts and Erika finding herself starring as Roxie Hart in Chicago, she could technically quit the Bravo series to continue her success as a pop superstar— especially after the film Anora won big at the 2025 Oscars.

How do Erika and the 2025 Academy Award winner for Best Picture relate? Erika’s song is featured in the comedy-drama film. Can we give Erika her very own golden statue?

Has Erika Jayne’s Time On RHOBH Come To An End?

Fans feel like Erika Jayne’s storyline on RHOBH is complete.

Erika Jayne has something to be proud of after being featured in rapper Brooke Candy’s song “Drip,” which was part of the Oscar-winning movie Anora. At the 97th Academy Awards, Anora took home five out of six of its Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. The song, “Drip,” is part of the movie’s soundtrack, and it’s a total boss move to have your own song in an Oscar-winning film.

Even before Anora was nominated for Best Picture and its other categories that included, Original Screenplay, Directing, and Actress in a Leading Role (which they all won), Erika spoke to The Daily Dish about how the film was getting Oscar buzz and how her song, which she called “Eh,” back then, was part of the movie.

“I’m out performing, which I think is wonderful. And I’m actually hosting a screening for the movie Anora, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes, and one of my songs [“Drip”] is in it. So, it’s fun. Erika Jayne’s music is out there.”

She continued, “Can you imagine?! I mean, like this song that I recorded a few years ago, where I was like, ‘Eh,’ and now here it is. It’s in Anora.” The song isn’t new, having been released in 2019, but it was given a new life when it made its debut in the drama.

After Anora took home the biggest award of the night for films at the 2025 Oscars, Erika reposted multiple Instagram Stories of people celebrating and congratulating the reality star. Of course, her 2019 song was playing in the background in each post.

One of the reposts that Erika shared read, “This basically means @theprettymess is an Oscar winner.” Another post shared an image of the film’s poster with “Best Picture” on the bottom. It was captioned, “One of the few Oscar nominated films I actually watched … thanks to @theprettymess lol.”

In fact, even Erika’s RHOBH co-star Bozoma Saint John gave Erika a huge shoutout. In her own Instagram Story, she wrote, “So basically, @theprettymess won an adjacent @theacademy award since her song is featured in this Oscar winning Best Picture film!”

Erika isn’t the only Real Housewives star to have a connection to the Oscars. In fact, RHOBH newbie Jennifer Tilly was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1994 film Bullets Over Broadway.

The Oscars Red Carpet Looks That Had Everyone Talking

The Oscars red carpet isn’t usually a place for daring looks, but these celebrities wanted to stand out from the crowd.

Erika Jayne’s Music Journey

Erika has been performing since she was a kid, and it’s pretty much in her blood. The reality TV star’s mother, Renee Chahoy, was a piano teacher who shared her passions with her daughter. Speaking about her love of music and performing with AceShowbiz, Erika said, “You know, one of my special childhood memories is waking up on the weekend and listening to my mother playing downstairs.”

“So, we would have all these beautiful classical music in the house and that was such a wonderful feeling. So, sure. She’s been an influence on my musical career.”

Erika later detailed with 303 Magazine that her love of performing in front of a crowd really set in when she was in high school. “That’s where you really learned to love the stage and really hone your early performing skills. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything in the world!”

Erika is the author of the New York Times bestseller Pretty Mess, a tell-all memoir about her life as a performer and Bravo star.

However, it wasn’t until she was in her thirties that she released her debut album, 2009’s Pretty Mess, which featured the chart-topping Billboard dance song, “Roller Coaster.” The RHOBH star then released several singles that include other top chart dance hits like “Painkillr” and “How Many F****.”

In 2023, Erika announced her Las Vegas residency, which ended that December. She’s also taken on the role of Roxie Hart in the musical, Chicago, which was her Broadway debut.

While she’s also making waves on RHOBH, she’s happy she isn’t the one in the hot seat for Season 14. “Listen, there are degrees of heat in the hot seat and I think mine is relatively low compared to previous seasons where it was scalding hot,” she expressed.
