The state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has filed a suit before an Osun State High Court, Ikirun Division, against the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and Osun State Commissioner of Police.
A copy of the originating summons, dated February 28, 2025, as obtained by The Guardian, yesterday, issued a 21-day ultimatum to the defendants to cause an appearance to be made before the court after the service of the court process.
The matter was adjourned to April 17, 2025, for the hearing of the suit, with substituted service granted accordingly.
IN the same vein, the newly elected and sworn-in local council officials in Osun State have approached the State High Court sitting in Ikirun on the resolution of the ongoing logjam created by the occupation of the various council secretariats by council officials produced by the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in 2022.
Joined in the suit are the IGP, the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, the Director-General, Department of State Services (DSS), and the Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The matter has been adjourned to April 15, 2025, for further hearing, while the court has granted the prayer for substituted service.
