NBA player Tristan Thompson has some explaining to do. The father of Khloé Kardashian’s two children caught heat from Blac Chyna—who now goes by Angela White—after proclaiming that Dream Kardashian was his “daughter” in a Snapchat Story.
Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian are the parents of Dream. The former couple welcomed their daughter on November 10, 2016, and had a tumultuous relationship that included child custody battles, and the rapper even suing Rob’s family.
However, Tristan calling Dream his “daughter” did not sit well with Blac Chyna. Even fans have called out the professional basketball player as he has children of his own that he seems to neglect.

Tristan Thompson received major backlash, most notably from Blac Chyna, after he proclaimed in a Snapchat Story that Dream Kardashian was his “daughter.” In a post on January 30, the Cleveland Cavaliers player shared a video of himself in which he shared:
“I have two daughters, and their names are … Dream is my oldest daughter, and True [Kardashian] is the second oldest. Those are my two girls, and I miss you guys so much. I love you guys,” Tristan, who shares True with Khloé Kardashian, said in his video which also read, “A message to Dream & True ❤️.”
While he may have thought his message was harmless, Blac Chyna went after the NBA player.
In a comment on Hollywood Unlocked’s Instagram, which shared Tristan’s video, Blac Chyna wrote:
“Dream has one mother, Angela White, and one father, Robert Kardashian.”
“I usually don’t speak up, but I’m done. Stop all this clout chasing involving my daughter! As parents, we have joint custody, and we also have a beautiful, healthy co-parenting relationship,” she shared.
Fans flooded Hollywood Unlocked’s comment section by taking Blac Chyna’s side and even reminding the NBA player that he has biological children he reportedly doesn’t even take care of.
While fans were angry with Tristan, they were pleased to hear that Blac Chyna and Rob were in a good place. “Nice to hear they have a beautiful coparenting relationship. I find Angela’s growth and self improvement journey incredibly impressive,” a comment on a Reddit thread discussing Blac Chyna’s comment read.
“I like how she defended rob here too and was very respectful of him. It’s a classy response imo,” another commenter wrote.
Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian have had a turbulent relationship after the birth of Dream, in 2016. However, they appear to have worked through their issues for the sake of their daughter.

In the aforementioned Reddit thread, fans expressed their frustrations as Tristan doesn’t appear to have a relationship with his own children—most notably, his young son, Theo, whom he welcomed with personal trainer Maralee Nichols, while dating Khloé, in December 2021.
“Tristan doesn’t even take ownership for some of his own kids so HOW DARE HE ?!”
“Good! I’m glad [Blac Chyna] did because it was disrespectful to Dream’s parents and also weird of Tristan that can’t even claim one of his BIOLOGICAL children,” a commenter wrote in the Reddit thread.
The bombshell story that Tristan fathered a child with another woman who was not Khloé had the NBA player denying the allegations at first. However, he later confirmed that the baby was his after taking a paternity test. He publicly apologized to Khloé in an Instagram post. The two would later welcome a second child, a son named Tatum Thompson, in July 2022, via surrogate.

Since confirming that Theo was his son, Tristan has yet to share any photos on Instagram with him on social media, which has led many fans to believe that he does not have any sort of relationship with him. Looking at Maralee’s Instagram, she has not shared any photos with Tristan. Instead, the fitness guru—who doesn’t show her son’s face—posts photos celebrating important holidays like Mother’s Day and Theo’s birthday, solo with her son.
In March 2023, Khloé wished Tristan a happy birthday on Instagram, calling him “the best father.” Her post included several photos of Tristan with their children True, Tatum, and his oldest son, Prince, with whom he shares with his ex, Jordan Craig. However, there were no photos with Theo.

However, it seems that Tristan has stepped up and become an active parent in Prince’s life. The Cavaliers’ player shared a photo with Prince, True, and Tatum holding hands and hanging out with one another in December 2024. He captioned the photos with a simple heart emoji. His son, Theo, was not in any of the snapshots.
