President Bola Tinubu has directed the military to end insecurity in all parts of Nigeria. Minister of Defense, Abubakar Badaru, revealed that the President has given a clear directive to eradicate insecurity by the end of the year.

Badaru emphasized that the military will not rest until the country is fully secured, and that efforts have already led to the resumption of mining exploration activities in Zamfara. He also noted that the bandits are already on the run, and that the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Defence Staff, and his team are working tirelessly to actualize the President’s target.

The Minister’s statement comes on the heels of a meeting with the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, and Nasarawa State Governor, Gov. Abdullahi Sule.

Alake praised Nasarawa State for its collaboration in harnessing the state’s vast minerals potential, particularly lithium, which is abundant in the state.

Governor Sule commended Alake for driving President Tinubu’s agenda on mining development but acknowledged that insecurity remains a challenge in some areas. He emphasized the need for further collaboration to address security challenges and ensure uninterrupted mining operations.

The meeting highlighted the importance of ongoing collaboration with the private sector to strengthen the mining value chain in the state. With lithium factories operating optimally and additional factories under construction, Nasarawa State is poised to become a hub for mining activities in Nigeria.
