Lagos Records Zero Crime During Yuletide- CP

Mohamed Garba

Lagos State has achieved a remarkable feat by recording zero crimes during the yuletide season, thanks to effective collaboration and intelligence sharing among security agencies. Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olanrewaju Ishola, attributed the success to the importance of interagency cooperation in maintaining law and order, especially during peak festive periods.

According to Ishola, the state’s security measures yielded positive results, with over 5,000 people visiting Lagos through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in December 2024 alone. Impressively, 90% of these visitors stayed until January without any incidents.

Ishola emphasized that intelligence sharing and harmonized inter-agency collaboration were key to curbing crime and criminality in the state. He noted that the command employed intelligence-led policing, which resulted in a peaceful season. The police also conducted crime mapping of blackspots and volatile areas, which paid off.

This achievement underscores Lagos State’s commitment to maintaining law and order, making it a safe destination for residents and visitors alike.
