PDP not viable electoral fighting platform at national level – Atiku's aide

Demola Olarewaju, the Special Assistant on Digital Media Strategy to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has said that the problem with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is that “the party is no longer a viable electoral fighting platform at the national level, few states as exceptions.”

Olarewaju also described #WhiskeyWike and his gang as one of the problems wrong with the PDP, the platform on which his principal contested the 2019 and 2023 presidential election.

The hashtag #WhiskeyWike has been used by netizens to denigrate the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Concluding his post, Atiku’s aide said, “Winning the PDP presidential ticket at this point is a mere formality, of which, nothing comes out.”

Olarewaju said this despite the fact that his principal is still a member of the PDP and may be looking to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform.
