Welcome To Plathville has long followed the Plaths, a deeply religious family with nine children. Now that the kids are older (some of them adults themselves), each has begun to take their own life path on the reality TV show.
One of the elder daughters, Lydia, was often considered the “good girl” of the family, very committed to her faith and to her relatives. More recently, she surprised fans by hard-launching a new boyfriend on social media.
Lydia Debuted Her Boyfriend On Instagram
Throughout the show, Lydia was often known for her love of music (like many of the rest of her family members) as well as her “prayer closet,” a small space in the house where she would enclose herself to pray. When the camera filmed inside the closet, viewers could see the sticky notes she’d placed upon the wall, filled with her wishes that she prayed to God for.
Something that Lydia spoke about on the most recent season of the show was wanting to begin her dating life. Before, she’d remarked that she wasn’t ready for romance, as seeing her elder brother Ethan weather his divorce from now-ex Olivia had been difficult. It also didn’t help that her parents went through their own split, and that her mother Kim had faced a difficult time introducing her new boyfriend to the rest of the family. That said, now Lydia was finally opening her eyes to the idea of a relationship.

During one episode, Barry Plath had a special feeling about his birthday gift for daughter Lydia.
Just this past week, Lydia posted photos of herself with her new boyfriend, a man named Zac. In the picture carousel, Lydia and Zac embrace each other outside of a festive Christmas lights display. In another slide, there’s even a video of Zac twirling her around and dipping her, both of them laughing together. In the caption of the photo, Lydia wrote, “low quality pictures, high quality time.”
Lydia has shared a few images of her partner on social media so far. In another image carousel on her Instagram account, she referred to Zac as “my love” and even wrote a heartfelt caption to go alongside the post:
Words can’t describe how grateful I am the Lord has brought you into my life!❤️ You never cease to amaze me with the adventures we go on, supporting me in every high and low, and overflowing every moment with joy as we pursue the Lord together.
Perhaps unsurprising to fans who have followed Lydia for a while, she credited God for bringing her together with Zac. In the comments of the post, fans shared their support for Lydia, noting how glad they were to see her so happy. Others even teased that they were zooming in looking for an engagement ring, surprised when they didn’t find one.

Zac Shared His Own Kind Words About Lydia
Lydia certainly isn’t the only one gushing about her feelings on social media. On Zac’s own Instagram account, he also posted sweet photos of the two of them. Similar to Lydia, he added his own caption referencing the part that he believed God had played in their relationship:

Among the positive celebration of Lydia and Zac’s newfound love, fans chimed in from the comments section, sending them warm wishes and praising their faith. “Man of God, take very good care of this diamond that God entrusted to you, Lydia is a very precious woman before the eternal Father and our eyes too,” one person wrote. “Always keep walking along these paths of God with her. Congratulations to the couple !!!! 🙏🏻🧡🧡🌻,” they added with enthusiasm.

As of now, none of the other Plath family members who are on social media have commented on Lydia or Zac’s posts together, and it makes fans wonder if the group approves of her new partner. That said, given the positive outpouring of support from Lydia’s fans, it seems she has no plans to stop her posts, giving her followers cute glimpses into their relationship.
Most recently, Lydia posted another image carousel on her Instagram of a trip to Colorado that she and Zac took together. In the caption of the post, Lydia jokes that Zac served as a very patient “coach” for her first time skiing, and in the first picture, she lies on the snow with one of her skis raised up in the air.
In another slide, Lydia captures a video of Zac skiing smoothly down a slope, coming to a stop just before her. In another, Lydia poses for a photo at an elevation of nearly 12,000 feet, smiling in front of the sign for the Loveland pass — an apt name for this new chapter of her life.
