The NASCAR owners has been working hard to get the sport back to its glory days in terms of the fame and cultural significance, they had in the early 2000s. Another series that has been investing time and resources to secure the same goal, is the IndyCar series that is struggling to remain as relevant as it used to because of the rise in popularity of F1 among many factors.
Roger Penske one of the biggest names in the Motorsports scene has explained a way how the two series can work together get the better deal. Him being the owner of IndyCar, one of the most accomplished team owners in the open wheel racing series and the NASCAR Cup series, gives a lot of validity to the suggestions.
At the NASCAR Awards, he pointed out that having double headers a whole week involving the two series would be a great investment. He believes that the motorsports series needs some diversity to grow and the double headers, like they have done in the past with Brickyard 400 can helps the sport to grow as a whole.
I’m not announcing anything but think about it. We ran a doubleheader there with IndyCar and NASCAR. You could do that to give a fuller weekend. Some diversity there I think could be important as we go forward.

Joey Logano won the 2024 title, and the champion has credited his boss for the win. He revealed that Penske being a consistent race winner inspire the whole team to not to succumb to pressure and succeed.

He’s been doing this for a long time. The guy wins, he expects you to win or you’re not going to be there very long.
