Stephen Curry’s Warriors and Kendrick Lamar’s new album get compared by ex-NBA champ

The Golden State Warriors have made a flying start to the 2024-25 NBA season. They have performed admirably in the Western Conference, sitting on top of the table. The Warriors star man Stephen Curry has led his side on all fronts. NBA champion Kendrick Perkins made a bold declaration regarding Curry and his Warriors side lately.

Perkins compared Curry’s Warriors to world-famous USA rapper Kendrick Lamar‘s new album track. After its surprise release on Friday, Kendrick Lamar’s most recent album, GNX, has become extremely popular. The news was unexpected given his ongoing feud with fellow rapper Drake. Perkins believes Curry and Co. have what it takes to ‘contend’ for the title.

In the league, the Warriors’ offense ranks third. However, they have been excellent defensively, ranking fifth in that category. The difference between the two measurements is almost ten points. They have a strong young core formed around Curry as well. They have, for instance, Andrew Wiggins, Buddy Hield, Moses Moody, and Brandin Podziemski to contribute as well.

Interestingly, a fifth championship would solidify Curry’s place among the greatest of all time. It would also provide one more to what is undoubtedly one of the most powerful franchises of the century. Curry also mentioned previously that he is ‘eyeing a 5th NBA title’ with the Warriors before calling it a day on his glorious career.

Steve Kerr ONCE made a bold declaration about Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry announced himself in the league with his immense 3-point shooting ability. Since then, he is now regarded as one of the best shooters in the sport. However, his head coach Steve Kerr was unfamiliar with this when he was newly appointed by the Golden State Warriors. Regarding this, he opened up about Curry’s shooting ability.

I remember on the sidelines, seeing him dribbling through traffic… every coach that I ever had in my life’s voice was in my head saying, ‘That’s a terrible shot.’ What I eventually figured out is that it’s a great shot because it’s Steph Curry. The numbers don’t lie; that’s a shot he makes over 40% of the time, so I finally realized Steph gets to shoot whenever he wants.

Curry is being discussed as the best offensive player of all time for a reason. His modest manner suits his ability to take down defenses with a single wrist flick. When the point guard reaches half-court, opponents are aware of what will happen, but they are helpless to stop it. This season, he is aiming to win the 2025 NBA title with impressive form so far.
