Mercedes’ recent upturn in performance has enabled Lewis Hamilton to score better results over the race weekends. The team had high hopes coming into the Azerbaijan GP which were soon crushed after Hamilton had to start the race from the pit lane due to a new power unit. In addition to this, the Briton has faced multiple struggles during the event.
Lewis Hamilton couldn’t keep up with impressive performances after a torrid time at the Azerbaijan GP qualifying. The 39-year-old could only manage a P7 start for the race, which was soon turned into a pit lane start. As a result, Hamilton is out of contention for scoring points due to additional challenger issues during the race.
Hamilton took to the team radio to pinpoint the issue with the grip. Hamilton noted that he had to drive the chassis in a ‘C-shape’ to prevent wheelspin. Hence, it is safe to assume that the 39-year-old isn’t impressed by the chassis performance at the Azerbaijan GP.
I've got to drive the C-shape to stop wheelspinLewis Hamilton said on the team radio

The entire Azerbaijan GP witnessed Lewis Hamilton facing difficulty in trying to score impressive performances. The Briton took to team radio to further lament the issues faced by him. Hamilton questioned his radio engineer if they were aware of the way he had to drive the challenger.

Mercedes’ recent upturn in performance might witness a decline after the incessant struggles. Hamilton and George Russell continue to battle on the track to move up the pecking order. However, the Silver Arrows might not be the happiest after the culmination of the Azerbaijan GP due to the mediocre results.
