The 2024 season has been a story of mixed emotions for Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman. He came into the season desperate for redemption after missing playoffs in 2023. He went onto win Chicago Street Race, and secured his place in the last-16. But despite the win the season hasn’t been great for him owing to his inconsistency,
Kyle Larson, Willaim Byron and Chase Elliott being in the fight for race win consistently while Alex Bowman was struggling, caused rumors that the team is looking to replace the No:48 racer. This annoyed the Chevy driver a lot and he had given strong responses to the questions from the media over having to look for a new seat in 2025.
Now HMS owner Rick Hedrick has final broken his silence over the claims and has proclaimed that the No:48 driver will remain with the Chevy giants for 2025. It seems the Hall of Famer is satisfied with Bowman’s performance.

Kevin Harvick asserts Alex Bowman is frustrated over the rumors
2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick has shared his verdict on the whole replacement saga. He pointed out the conversation of replacing Bowman might have happened because of the poor performance and that’s is taking a toll of the team.
When you look at the 48 situation, it’s obvious that someone has had the conversation about Bowman not driving the car and scenarios. But even though he called everybody, there’s gotta be some sort of conversation that’s been had somewhere.Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.
He further pointed out, just like Alex Bowman his whole squad was frustrated about the questions about the driver being replaced. Harvick has a point here as team shouldn’t be involving in such media drama.
Frustrating for the driver. But I always thought it was more frustrating for the team. Because the crew chief and the team guys don’t wanna have to answer the question. And they get frustrated with having to answer questions like that.Kevin Harvick added.
The 2024 season has been toughs for Bowman, but he still has time to prove a point in the post-season. If he can make it into the R-8, if not the champoionship-4, upsetting few big names. Might be enough to convince some of the NASCAR fans he deserves an HMS seat.
