“Why Nigerian Celebrities Don’t Stay Long In The U.S.”- Lord Lamba Spills

  • Lord Lamba shared insights on why celebrities often leave the U.S. quickly.
  • Many top Nigerian stars, including musicians like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Tiwa Savage, frequently visit the U.S. but return to Nigeria shortly after.
  • This trend is also observed among actors, comedians, and other public figures who primarily reside in Lagos.

Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Promise Kelvin Anagbogu, popularly known as Lord Lamba, has shared his candid thoughts on why many Nigerian celebrities avoid staying long in the United States.

In a video making rounds online, Lord Lamba addressed a common observation: top Nigerian celebrities—including musicians like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Tiwa Savage—often visit the U.S. but return to Nigeria within a short time. The same goes for actors, comedians, and other public figures who are usually based in Lagos and rarely spend more than a few weeks abroad.

According to Lord Lamba, the reason is simple—bills.

He said:

“You wonder why you see most of your celebrities come to United States and two weeks they are back home, you dey craze, you go pay bills, you think it is Nigerian bills, you will pay bills now, you go pay bills, you go broke.

I want come to United States, your earn in dollars, bro the bills is on dollars, you will pay your bills in dollars, you will broke.

I dare any content creator to come and stay in the US for six months if you no broke, make I bend.”

His message emphasizes the financial pressure of living in the U.S., even for successful Nigerian stars. Lamba’s blunt honesty has sparked online discussions about the hidden realities of life abroad.
