Kenyan President William Ruto recently made a lighthearted remark about Nigerian men. He humorously pointed out that Nigerian men seem to be marrying many Kenyan daughters.
This comment came after two of his own daughters tied the knot with Nigerian partners. Speaking at a wedding event, the president jokingly expressed surprise at the growing preference among Kenyan women for Nigerian husbands over Kenyan men.
Ruto playfully questioned why Kenyan men appear to be stepping back in this trend and warned that if it continues, Kenya might face a talent drain as more women marry Nigerians.
“My daughter is married to a Nigerian, and this one is now married to a Nigerian. And our guys around; I don’t know, are you slow? I don’t know. We need to balance this scale because at this rate, we are going to have a brain drain from Kenya,” –Ruto said
