Nigerian comedian Deeone has expressed strong disapproval of singer Davido following his recent appearance with the country’s president and first lady.
In a video response, Deeone criticized the music star’s behavior during the visit, claiming it reflects why artists like Burna Boy and Wizkid are seen as more respected. He accused Davido of displaying what he described as “poor man’s behavior” by constantly smiling and showing his teeth during the meeting.
The comedian, who recently experienced a setback by losing access to his social media account, argued that Davido had failed to represent the struggles of everyday Nigerians. He expressed disappointment, saying the singer had previously spoken out against the president but did not take this opportunity to voice public concerns directly.
Deeone added that Davido had “embarrassed himself” by not using the platform more responsibly. He also cautioned fans against expecting celebrities to champion national issues, as they often fall short when given the chance.
This incident follows similar criticism directed at Davido’s associate, Pascal Okechukwu—popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest—who received backlash for his recent visit to the vice president and the public display of their meeting online.
