Why I Can’t Wait For St. Denis Medical’s Second Season

Since there are so many new TV shows premiering each year, it can be hard to keep track of them all. As a result, there were a lot of people who unfortunately didn’t initially realize that St. Denis Medical was such a great show. However, by the time that St. Denis Medical’s first season ended, the show had developed enough of a fan following that it was renewed for more.

As someone who watched every episode of St. Denis Medical’s first season, I am very happy to know that the world will get to see more of the show. In fact, I believe that St. Denis Medical is so entertaining that I can’t wait to see it return.

I Can’t Wait To See What Happens With St. Denis Medical’s Matt And Serena

Like most people, I have spent years of my life being delighted by a myriad of different sitcoms. For example, I have absolutely loved shows like The Good Place, Seinfeld, New Girl, Parks and Recreation, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and more.

However, the truth is that there have been some sitcom tropes that have driven me nuts at times. For example, there have been times when examples of sitcom will they or won’t they relationships have really irritated me.

Despite that, there have also been times when I have been charmed by great examples of will they or won’t they relationships on sitcoms. After watching the first season of St. Denis Medical, not only do I love Matt and Serena’s will they or won’t they relationship, but it is also the biggest reason I can’t wait for Season 2.

In the past, some TV will they or won’t they relationships have bothered me because they get pushed too far. Easily the best example of a will they or won’t they relationship that I grew to be angry with was Rachel Green and Ross Geller from Friends.

While I recognize that most people consider Ross and Rachel to be the best will they or won’t they relationship, I think they became what is wrong with the trope. The reason I grew to be very frustrated with Rachel and Ross is because of how dumb the excuses to keep them apart became. While bringing up Ross and Rachel may feel like it is off-topic, the problems with those characters underline why I can’t wait to see more of Matt and Serena.

The Pitt Vs. St. Denis Medical: Comparing 2025’s Two Best New Medical Shows

The Pitt and St. Denis Medical have proven that 2025 is a great year for new medical shows, but it is fascinating to look at which show is better.

During the first season of St. Denis Medical, Matt’s unrequited love for Serena felt entirely realistic. After all, the vast majority of people go through a time in their life when they were experiencing what Matt went through on the show.

According to Famous Birthdays, Mekki Leeper was born on September 9th, 1994 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. That makes Mekki 30 years old as of May 2025. Famous Birthdays also reports that Kahyun Kim was born on October 18th, 1989 in Los Angeles, California. That would make Kahyun 35 years old as of May 2025.

It is very common for people to develop a crush on someone around them. Unfortunately for people who find themselves in that situation, just because you have a crush doesn’t mean that they will think of you in that light at all.

Throughout St. Denis Medical’s first season, Serena clearly never thought of Matt as a romantic possibility. Definitely aware of that, Matt came close to professing his feelings for Serena at various points. However, circumstances conspired against him. Either that or circumstances gave Matt the excuse to never take such a frightening risk depending how you look at things.

After many, many episodes of build-up, Matt came to the conclusion that many people who’ve had crushes in real life will relate to. Matt finally realized that he’d been obsessing over a relationship that never was and never would be.

The truth is that most unrequited crushes come to that same moment, and they fizzle out without leading to anything. Here’s the thing though, St. Denis Medical isn’t real life, and I’m looking forward to seeing things potentially play out differently for Matt and Serena during the second season.

Why St. Denis Medical Is One Of The Best New Shows And Needs More Attention

St. Denis Medical has quickly become a must-see new show that deserves a much larger fan following.

St. Denis Medical’s first season finale led to a watershed moment for Serena when she found out about Matt’s feelings for her.

As a character who often seemed scared, it seems very realistic that Matt never told Serena how he felt. Instead, the duo’s co-worker Val couldn’t take it anymore and told Serena about Matt’s feelings for her. When Serena couldn’t believe Val at first, Dr. Bruce confirmed that Matt had been smitten with her.

Since Serena found out about his feelings when he’d decided to move on, it seems very likely that Matt is going to start dating someone else as she develops a crush on him. It is the standard will they or won’t they fare that viewers have come to know all-too-well. So, that begs an obvious question. Why am I so excited to see the next chapter in Matt and Serena’s relationship?

The answer to that is simple: the idea of seeing Serena in the unrequited crush situation seems like it will be extremely compelling. Unlike most TV characters that wind up in will they or won’t they relationships, Serena is an extremely confident character. Not only that, fans saw Serena effortlessly wrap men around her finger during the first season.

To see the roles reversed on Serena is bound to make entertaining television and I can’t wait to see it. I just really hope that St. Denis Medical doesn’t spend the next several seasons coming up with increasingly absurd ways to keep Serena and Matt apart.

There Are Several More St. Denis Medical Characters I Can’t Wait To See More Of

Throughout sitcom history, many shows that have featured will they or won’t they relationships have been dominated by them. To St. Denis Medical’s great credit, however, Matt and Serena are only one of the many things that are great about the show. As a result, there are many more St. Denis Medical characters that I can’t wait to see more of.

The Second Half Of The Abbott Elementary And It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia Crossover Is Going To Be Very Different

Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson revealed that the second half of the show’s It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia crossover will be very different.

Most obviously, I am very excited to see Wendi McLendon-Covey and David Alan Grier return as Joyce and Dr. Ron. Characters who are brought to life by a pair of incredibly talented comedic actors, Dr. Ron and Joyce have both brought a lot to St. Denis Medical. Additionally, Dr. Ron and Joyce’s friendship took a major step at the end of the first season and I want to see more of that.

Then there is Josh Lawson’s character, Dr. Bruce. A hilarious character with a huge ego who is brought to life by a genius performer, Dr. Bruce is delightful every time he appears on my TV. Of course, Alex is also the heart and soul of St. Denis Medical. While she doesn’t make me laugh in the same way as the show’s other lead characters, I am looking forward to seeing Alex grow as a character and to see how she copes with the weirdos around her.

Finally, St. Denis Medical has two supporting characters that I need to see in the spotlight more: Kaliko Kauahi’s Val and Dave Theune’s Keith. A pair of truly hilarious characters who were used as spice to improve great scenes during the first season, Val and Keith are both great enough to be a side dish instead.

After all, there is a long history of sitcoms having strange supporting characters that become sensations. Val and Keith both seem perfectly poised to take on that role for St. Denis Medical.
