Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, describing the second year of his administration as a turning point where Nigerians are beginning to feel the impact of tough but necessary reforms.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismail Isah, the governor congratulated Tinubu on his second anniversary in office and commended what he called a “season of harvest” following bold economic and governance policies.
“Today marks two years of visionary leadership under our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Ododo said. “Your Renewed Hope Agenda has brought bold reforms, national recalibration, and a new sense of purpose across critical sectors of our economy and governance.”
Governor Ododo highlighted key policy moves including the removal of fuel subsidy, unification of the foreign exchange market, and reforms in taxation and financial regulation, noting that these actions have begun to stabilize the economy and rebuild investor confidence.
“President Tinubu’s second year in office has been about deepening reforms, managing the effects of bold policy initiatives, and translating difficult decisions into real economic gains,” he said.
According to Ododo, signs of macroeconomic stability are beginning to emerge, including increased non-oil revenue and renewed private sector interest in areas like gas, agriculture, transport, and technology.
He also pointed to several national initiatives—the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative, Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund, Nigerian Education Loan Fund, and efforts to boost food security and manufacturing—as examples of the administration’s long-term strategic vision.
Ododo emphasized that Kogi State is aligning closely with this direction by investing in infrastructure, expanding access to healthcare and education, and tailoring local policies to attract investment and empower youth.
He revealed that Kogi is actively participating in the national clean energy drive by training young people in CNG vehicle conversion technology—a move he said promotes environmental sustainability and job creation.
To improve urban mobility, he also announced the planned rollout of intra-city bus services in Lokoja, the state capital, describing it as part of the dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“On behalf of the government and the good people of Kogi State, I congratulate Mr. President and all Nigerians on this important milestone,” Ododo stated. “Together, we will continue to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous nation.”
As President Tinubu clocks two years in office, the Kogi governor expressed confidence in the administration’s direction and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting national development goals.
“The journey may be challenging,” he said, “but your courage and dedication continue to inspire hope and confidence across the nation.”
