A suspected internet fraudster, commonly referred to as a “yahoo boy,” has reportedly caused the death of a commercial motorcycle rider and three passengers in Ughelli, Delta State. A young boy was also injured in the incident and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
The incident occurred along the Oteri-Ovwor Road in Ughelli North Local Government Area on Tuesday, Daily Post reports.
The suspect abandoned his Mercedes Benz GLK and fled the scene after killing the four individuals.
It was gathered that the suspect was driving at very high speed when he knocked down a commercial motorcycle carrying three passengers and also hit a young boy returning from school along the road.
The motorcycle operator and the three passengers died on the spot, while the young boy was hospitalized.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, is yet to respond to text and WhatsApp messages sent to him for confirmation of the report. He also did not answer phone calls as of the time of this report.
