Two siblings, Musa Abdullahi Yabaji and Binta have died after flood ravaged Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa communities in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.
The siblings were among those killed in the devastation.
While the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) has confirmed 21 fatalities, local residents fear the actual d3ath toll has surpassed 60, with over 50 Almajirai (traditional Islamic students) still unaccounted for.
Binta, a Niger State College of Health Technology student, was in Mokwa for the holidays. Her brother was a teacher.
Bodies of the siblings have since been recovered, while other members of their family remain missing.
Among the confirmed d3ad are 12 members of a single family.
