“Ojoro INEC”- Eedris Abdulkareem Drags Nigeria’s Electoral Body In Latest Song

  • Eedris Abdulkareem released a new song titled “Ojoro INEC” on May 30.
  • The song critiques the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its perceived lack of independence.
  • Abdulkareem suggests that INEC is heavily influenced by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has ignited widespread discussion on social media following the release of his new song “Ojoro INEC,” where he takes aim at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Released on Friday, May 30, the track accuses INEC of lacking genuine independence and suggests that it is heavily influenced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Abdulkareem voices his criticism in the lyrics, particularly focusing on INEC’s stance on voting without a permanent voter card (PVC) and its resistance to electronic voting. He raps:

“E be like say INEC dey work for Tinubu,

E be like say INEC dey work for APC,

If na lie, Why you go legalise voting without PVC,

If na lie, Why you no wan register political parties,

If na lie, Why you no wan use electronic vote,

If na lie Why you dey use judiciary to suppress us.”

Sharing a video snippet from the track, Eedris captioned it:

“Eedris Abdulkareem’s Latest Single aptly titled ‘Ojoro INEC’, a song that x-rays INEC’s lame dependency on the current administration whims and caprices and its ‘Errand Boy’ status to the ruling party in Nigeria, officially drops today on all platform by 12 AM.”

“Ojoro INEC” comes on the heels of his previous release, “Tell Your Papa,” a song in which he urged Seyi Tinubu to convey the struggles of ordinary Nigerians to his father, President Tinubu. That track was later banned by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

Fans can now listen to “Ojoro INEC” on all streaming platforms.
