Chelsea striker Sam Kerr and her fiancée, fellow professional footballer Kristie Mewis, have welcomed their first child together—a baby boy named Jagger Mewis-Kerr.
The couple, who are planning to wed this December, shared the joyful news with fans on Thursday morning, May 8, 2025, through a heartfelt Instagram post.
“Our little man is here, Jagger Mewis-Kerr 💙,” they wrote in the caption accompanying a tender family photo. In the image, Mewis, a midfielder for West Ham and the U.S. national team, rests her head on Kerr’s shoulder while Kerr beams with pride, holding their newborn son.
Kerr, 31, and Mewis, 34, first made headlines during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 when Mewis was seen consoling Kerr following Australia’s close 4–3 loss to the U.S. The moment sparked interest in their relationship, which blossomed soon after Kerr’s 2019 relocation to London during the pandemic.
According to a recent court testimony cited by the Daily Mail, Kerr shared that their connection began when Mewis confidently reached out to her via direct message. The pair confirmed their relationship not long after and officially announced their engagement in 2023.
Now, with the arrival of baby Jagger, the couple begins an exciting new chapter as they prepare for their upcoming wedding later this year.
