Kanye Sends Cease & Desist Over North West’s Met Gala Appearance

Kanye West just made it very clear that he’s not here for co-parenting chaos — especially not when it comes to their daughter North West showing up at the Met Gala.

On May 8, Ye sent a scathing cease-and-desist letter through his attorney, targeting Kim Kardashian for what he claims are multiple violations of their custody agreement, including unauthorized use of their kids’ images and denying him access to his own children. And yes, it’s giving “see you in court” energy.

According to the legal document (which hit the internet faster than North hits a TikTok dance), Ye is fuming over three major issues:

1. North’s Met Gala Appearance

Kanye claims that Kim exposed North to “significant media attention” by bringing her to the Met Gala on May 5. He also alleges that North was left unattended in a vehicle during parts of the event, something he says put their daughter’s safety at risk.

And while the internet was obsessed with North’s red carpet moment (because let’s be honest — she ate), Kanye is not feeling the glam. In the letter, he says Kim violated their custody agreement by publicly showcasing their daughter without his consent.

2. Posting Their Kids on Social Media (Again)

Ye has been very vocal in the past about not wanting his kids, especially North, on social platforms like TikTok. This letter says Kim continues to “publish or authorize” content featuring their children, despite his explicit objections. So yes, he’s mad at the Met and the feed.

3. Being Shut Out as a Dad

Perhaps most upsetting to Kanye is what he calls a “denial of custodial access.” The letter claims that he’s had zero contact with Saint West in 2025, and that time with North, Chicago, and Psalm has been “unreasonably restricted.” He argues this violates the terms of their joint legal and physical custody agreement, finalized in their 2022 divorce.

So what now?

The letter, sent by Ye’s legal team via certified mail and email, demands that Kim immediately stop all actions that breach their custody terms — or risk further legal action. Translation: the West-Kardashian legal saga might be heading back to court soon.

Meanwhile, Kim has not publicly responded — and you know she won’t until the cameras are rolling.

Fans online are divided. Some are Team Ye, saying he has a right to be concerned about safety and overexposure. Others think Kanye is doing the most, and argue that Kim’s just living her life and letting her daughter shine.

One thing’s clear: what started as a family issue is now full-blown legal drama. And with both sides lawyered up, this co-parenting conflict is about to get even messier.

Because when your ex is Ye and your kid is already front-row famous? Nothing about parenting stays private.
