Nigerian music star Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, is still grieving the loss of his mother two years back.
The Morayo crooner, who lost his mother in 2023 via the micro-blogging platform Twitter, now known as X, revealed that he still misses his Queen.
Although, not disclosing further, it is obvious the singer is still grieving the loss of his beloved mother.
“Miss my Queen every day”.
Early this month, the superstar singer surprised many by cancelling some of his concerts in major venues in the US for the Morayo tour.
Reacting to the news, his associate, Godson, called for prayers for him as he noted how Wizkid was still grieving the loss of his mother and had no one to help him.
The Grammy singer lost his mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun to the cold hands of death on Friday, August 18th, 2023. During his mother’s Night of Tribute, the singer, broke down as he gave an emotional speech at her funeral. He admitted that the pain is profound and it hurts deeply. According to him, it is the deepest pain he has ever felt in his life.
His mother was given a befitting burial which had in attendance several celebrities like Oba Elegushi, billionaire Tony Elumelu, Eniola Badmus, Osas Ighodaro, Kwam1, Wande Coal, Paul Okoye, Banky W, Pretty Mike, Mercy Eke, Kim Oprah, Morey Faith, and more in attendance.
After her burial, Wizkid expressed heartbreak over her death, revealing that since she died, life has been meaningless to him. He noted how he made IDK, one of his songs, after his mother’s death because life to him is meaningless despite having 4 kids.
In another post, he stated that sometimes one has to let everything go and work with God.
Still grieving his mother, Wizkid expressed hope that someday he would feel himself again as he revealed that he has lost himself over the passing of his mother.
On his mother’s posthumous birthday last year, he ranted about his current emotions about celebrating her birthday without her presence. He expressed how he misses her daily and said his life had been empty without her presence.
