Diddy’s Legal Team Asks for Kid Cudi’s Testimony About Porsche Explosion Tossed Out

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team is seeking to erase Kid Cudi’s explosive testimony from the record.

According to Billboard, the Bad Boy mogul’s lawyers filed to strike Cudi’s claims about his Porsche being firebombed in 2012 after Diddy allegedly found out the Cleveland rapper was secretly dating Cassie Ventura.

Last week, Cudi hit the stand and recounted the day his ride got lit up by what he described as a Molotov cocktail. He said he received a call from his dog-sitter, who told him, “Your car is on fire.” While rushing back home, his friend texted him a photo of a vehicle in flames, which was beyond saving by the time he arrived, and the top of the car reportedly cut open.

The testimony ties directly into Cassie’s earlier claims that Diddy lost it when he learned about her and Cudi, allegedly vowing to blow up the Man on the Moon artist’s car. Cudi also testified that when he later confronted Diddy about the explosion during a meeting with Cassie at Soho House in L.A., the music mogul played dumb.

Cudi accused Diddy of lying about his knowledge of the explosion.

“Mescudi’s speculation about Combs’s involvement had minimal probative value, whereas the danger of unfair prejudice, particularly since he was opining about an ultimate issue as to which he was the alleged victim—whether Combs was guilty of arson, one of the charged racketeering acts—was great,” his legal team wrote.

His team added that his remarks should be struck from the record because the “witness generally cannot testify that in his opinion, a declarant was lying when making a statement.”
