Badly Constructed Road: Governor Adeleke Deploys Top Officials to Community

Ola Akinwunmi

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has deployed top officials to a community affected by a poorly constructed road. The team, comprising officials from the Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Works, and O-RAMP Project, visited the community for an on-the-spot assessment and interaction with residents.

The team conveyed Governor Adeleke’s directive for an immediate review of the road’s construction and implementation of remedial actions according to best practices. The government assured the community of a thorough review and follow-up remedial work, as well as attention to other pressing community needs.

Residents had protested the road’s poor construction, which was tarred on Sunday but had parts washed away by Thursday’s rainfall. The community, led by Chairman Mr. Sunday Ogundele, expressed dissatisfaction with the road’s quality.

Governor Adeleke has shown commitment to infrastructure development in Osun State. Some of his notable projects include: Road Construction Projects, dualization of Osogbo-Ikirun Road with street lights (10.5 km), Construction of 20km of roads across Osun State, Rehabilitation of specific roads, such as Gbenga Junction-John Mackay Road (Phase 1) and Oloruntedo Community Road (Phase 2)
Provision of portable borehole water in each of the 333 wards
Rural electrification projects
Enrollment of 3000 Osun indigenes on the Osun Health Insurance Scheme

The government’s team is set to report back to Governor Adeleke by Monday, after which further corrective decisions will be taken.
