This was despite Bravo announcing a new edition to the franchise, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, and new seasons for existing shows: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Orange County, The Real Housewives of Potomac, and The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Fans immediately feared that RHONY would be canceled, and executive producer Andy Cohen has now shared an update.
Andy Cohen Shares An Update On The Future Of RHONY
Of all the Real Housewives franchises, RHONY is the second-longest-running show, first airing in 2008 (The Real Housewives of Orange County is the first). This is why the cancelation news seems like the end of a legacy to some. “We are between seasons,” Cohen said on Andy Cohen Live, per Deadline. “Last week, when I was here, the Bravo execs met with 10 potential new Real Housewives of New York. This is called the casting process between seasons, and it’s heavily underway.”
Cohen’s update is good news for fans of the Real Housewives franchise, but not good news for the current cast.

Cohen’s recent comments are echoed by a network insider who shared more information on the decision with Page Six. “We’re trying to figure that show out,” the insider claimed. “We want to figure it out. We think there’s still life in it.” The publication also noted that wanting to figure it out and doing it are two very different things, noting how The Real Housewives of Miami was canceled in 2013 and only made a comeback in 2021.
