AMVCA 2025: “Well deserved, she finished work” – Toyin Abraham celebrates Mercy Aigbe as she wins Best Supporting Actress

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham is celebrating her colleague and friend, Mercy Aigbe, following her AMVCA win.

Kemi Filani reported that Aigbe had beaten several of her colleagues, such as Meg Otanwa, Tina MBA, Ireti Doyle, Ini Dima Okojie, Omoni Oboli, and Darasimi Nadi, to win Best Supporting Actress for her role in Farmer’s Bride.

Reacting to the news, Toyin congratulated Mercy on her win as she stated that the movie star deserves it. Abraham noted how Mercy killed her role in the movie.

“Yesss, we won. Yess, well-deserved award. She finished work in Farmer’s Bride. Go sis”.

Toyin is no doubt reciprocating the love Mercy showed her last year. Kemi Filani reported that when Toyin’s cinema movie, Alakada Bad and Boujee, was ranked the 5th highest-grossing Nollywood release ever, Aigbe expressed how proud she was of her. Mercy said this was only the beginning for Abraham, as she told her to keep excelling.

When Toyin bagged a Trailblazer award from Silverbird TV, Aigbe said Toyin’s win was a testament to her exceptional talent, hard work, and dedication. She noted that Abraham deserves every bit of the recognition and expressed her pride in her.

Just a day ago, day ago, Aigbe reflected on her first AMVCA win and noted that she has received several nominations since then. The wife of Kazim Adeoti expressed gratitude that despite over twenty years in the industry, she is still relevant and still gets nominations. Aigbe said she can’t override the power of consistency, authenticity, and reinvention in her journey.

In March, Aigbe shared one of her greatest joys as a filmmaker. The movie star revealed that her greatest joy as a filmmaker was knowing that her movie resonates with so many people and evokes emotions. She expressed how incredible it was to see how her 2023 film touched hearts and continues to inspire many more.
