Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo Salami has revealed why he broke down on stage after winning the Best Actor at the AMVCA.
Kemi Filani reported that the talented actor and filmmaker had won the Best Lead Actor award at the just-concluded Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards on Saturday, May 10th.
While receiving his award on stage, Femi broke down in tears and was consoled by his colleague, Odunlade Adekola.
Taking to his Instagram page, Femi said that the reason for his breakdown is only known to him and Allah. He expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the unforgettable moment.
Femi noted how his award was truly deserved and is grateful for the moment.
“A truly deserved award, and I’m deeply grateful for this moment with every fibre of my being. The real reason for my breakdown is known only to me and Allah.
Big thank you to everyone who contributed to this unforgettable moment”.
Since Femi’s release of his first movie, Jagun Jagun on Netflix, he has undoubtedly made a mark for himself in the world of Filmmaking. The movie shattered records on Netflix, as it went global on the streaming app with 2.1 million views, and was ranked 5th in Non-English Charts.
In October, Adebayo was quite elated as his 2023 movie, Jagun Jagun bagged 7 nominations at the 2024 AMAA.
In November, he won big at the Best of Nollywood awards where he bagged 4 awards for his 2023 movie, Jagun Jagun. He won the Best Actor award, Best Use of Costume, Best Art Design, and Best Use of Effect, which he dedicated to the people of Kwara state.
A week later, he won another award at Odunlade Adekola Film Production Award ceremony.
