2027: Youth coalition backs Tinubu’s reelection

A coalition of youth organizations under the banner of the Coalition of Southern Nigeria Youth Groups for Asiwaju 2027 (COSONYGA-2027), on Friday, formally launched a nationwide campaign to support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election in the 2027 general elections.

The group called on private sector partners, civil society, and development agencies to collaborate in expanding youth opportunities across Nigeria.

The group’s Executive Director, Rt. Hon. Rikki Nwajiofor, disclosed this in Abuja during a press briefing, praised Tinubu’s leadership as “policy-backed, action-driven, and results-oriented.”

He emphasised that four years is not enough for President Tinubu to fully entrench his policy reforms and dismantle entrenched systems of corruption.

Nwajiofor said: “OSONYGA-2027 is a conglomerate of grassroot youth groups, nationally recognised youth groups, and youth leaders with a proven track record of leadership, networking and synergy. It is structured from the National down to the Polling Units level.

“Our engagements are devoid of political confrontations or blind polarization of tribal and religious ideologies; rather, a diplomatic syndication marshalled by superior presentation of facts that represent the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda so as to dislodge opposing impressions.

“Today, we are not just launching a group, we are igniting a movement. A movement built on vision, legacy, and continuity. A movement that stands in recognition of a leader who, time and again, has demonstrated political courage, inclusion, sagacity, unmatched leadership prowess, and innovation. That leader is none other than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Asiwaju worldwide.”

He explains that the coalition aims to create a structured network that stretches from the national to the polling unit level, focusing on grassroots engagement, digital advocacy, and policy-aligned campaigns.

He described the coalition as a youth-led movement committed to continuity and inclusive progress, urging young people across the southern states to rally behind the president’s second term bid.
