Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has come under fire for shunning his first daughter, Danielle Edochie’s birthday.
Kemi Filani reported on Thursday that the first child of Yul Edochie and his estranged wife, May Edochie, turned a year older on Thursday, April 11, and the actor had stayed offline.
Returning to Instagram this morning, Edochie shared photos from a movie set.
As expected, his fans took to his comment section to query why he didn’t celebrate his daughter’s birthday.

Unlike him, May had expressed her joy that her mini-me had grown into a strong, beautiful, and kind young woman. She stated that despite her age, Danielle will always be her little girl, her one and only girl child, and her first fruit. She expressed her pride in everything she had accomplished and her excitement about her future. May told Danielle to keep dreaming big, loving fiercely, and living fully.
Recall that following his marriage to his colleague, his relationship with his children has turned sour. Danielle had yanked off his name from her profile on social media. Danielle, who proudly used her father’s name, Danielle Yul Edochie, on her social media profiles had edited her name to be Danielle Diana Dubem.
Yul had also cut ties with her as he unfollowed her on Instagram, and had stopped commenting on her Instagram posts.
May’s lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, revealed that Yul doesn’t pay child support or his children’s school fees and that May takes care of their three children. He alleged that the actor told his daughter to meet her mother for her financial needs since she was making more money than him.
