A son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Mohammed Atiku-Abubakar, has clashed with the son of Bauchi State Governor, Shamsu Bala, over the 2023 election.
Mohammed Atiku-Abubakar told the governor’s son that his father, Bala Muhammed, allegedly worked against Atiku in the 2023 presidential election. He added that Muhammed also did not support his father during the 2019 poll.
Mohammed Atiku-Abubakar, in a statement issued yesterday, claimed that his father had never enjoyed Muhammed’s support in his bid for the presidency. The controversy followed Shamsu’s recent declaration that his father would not support Atiku in 2027.
He said: “Shamsu Bala’s comments, reek of arrogance and an exaggerated sense of relevance. The only difference now is that Shamsu has removed the mask and now, we do not have to worry about the feigned impression of any support from his father.
“Let it be known to Shamsu that never has Atiku dissipated an ounce of energy towards his father’s political travails.”
