Nollywood actress and producer Wumi Toriola has stirred the internet as she accepts her call as God’s minister.
To celebrate the new month of April, which is commonly marked as April Fool, Wumi Toriola announced on Instagram that she had heeded the voice of God.
She claimed to have picked up the call and expressed hope in fulfilling her ministry’s duties.
In the hilarious short statement made available on her Instagram page, Wumi Toriola disclosed her new name as Evangelist WT.
“Good morning lovers
I have finally heed to the voice of the Lord
I have picked up his call.
I hope he helps me in this new ministry
May God bless us all
Love from Evangelist WT”
Wumi Toriola’s acceptance came a few days after she stirred an online drama involving famous Nigerian chef Tolani and food critic Opeyemi Famakin.
Kemi Filani recalls that Wumi Toriola called out Chef T of Dairy of a Kitchen Lover for ignoring her DM while promoting her movie, Queen Lateefah, last year. Wumi stated that she feels the chef doesn’t need anyone again and can grow independently.
Food critic Opeyemi Famakin had weighed into the beef, reprimanding Wumi Toriola while he defended the celebrity chef, which didn’t sit well with Wumi.
Toriola reacted by poking fun at his career, stating that she only responded to him because of his desperate need for attention and relevance. She urged him to take a moment to reflect, establish a long-term career, or build a successful business before he approached her.
Recall also that Wumi Toriola broke seven boundaries with her cinema debut, Queen Lateefah. She shared an Instagram post listing the records her movie attained.
Queen Lateefah made the following records: Highest-grossing Nollywood Release for a non-festive period, Highest Opening Weekend for a non-holiday season, 7th highest-grossing film of all time, and grossing September Release of all time, among others at the cinema.
