Two people have been confirmed dead following an attack by some bandits operating in Agama Lafia village in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara States
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency said the attack happened at about 6.30 am on Monday, April 2025.
He said sources within the community revealed that three bandits who rode on motorcycles invaded the community and opened fire on the residents.
According to Makama, three residents were injured during the attack
He also mentioned that troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA had been deployed to the community although they arrived after the incident had occurred and the bandits had already fled the town.
Those injured from the attack have also been taken to the General Hospital in Tsafe for medical attention.
Makama wrote on X, “Two of the victims, identified as Sanusi Tasi’u and Kabiru Hamisu, succumbed to their injuries on arrival at the hospital. The third victim is currently receiving treatment and is in stable condition.
“The bodies of the deceased have been released to their families for burial according to Islamic rites,” he noted.
The security expert also said that military patrols in the area have been intensified to avoid the recurrence of such incidents.
