“They know he will be jealous that we are doing better without him” – Jude Ighalo’s ex-wife, Sonia, shares conversation with their children as she hints at him being a deadbeat father

Sonia Ighalo, the ex-wife of Nigerian footballer Jude Ighalo, has hinted that he is a deadbeat father.

In a series of posts on her Instagram story, she revealed that her kids told her not to post their latest outing as they knew their father would be jealous that they were doing better without him. She noted how kids abroad don’t care about one’s wealth and would abuse and humiliate a person.

“Yesterday, while we were heading home, my kids said to me, “Mom, could you please not share the pictures and videos we took? I asked why. They said, and I quote,, ‘That man will be so mad, he will be jealous that we are doing even better without him.
Ah!

Children (abroad ones, for that matter) who’ve been abused and humiliated don’t care about your wealth; once they cancel you, it’s over”.

In another post, she said her ex is supposed to be appreciating her every day as she is covering up for him.

“The loopholes wey mothers they cover sometimes eh, on God

Man, suppose they appreciate me every day, like for real, because if not, these children don’t even know who I am.

Only I can cover up—the kids, their school, social career team, my own family, friends, and his gullible followers. Adesuwa,, you deserve the whole forest. “

Sonia also recounted how her ex-husband’s late sister vowed that she would never give birth as she believed she was only trying to claim her brother’s property. But God proved her wrong.

“My late wicked ex-husband’s sister said to me:

Sonia, I go see as you go take born that pikin wey u get for belle come life. Shey u dey born because of my brother’s property, we shall see.

Me: Who is he that saith and it cometh to pass when the Lord commandeth it not?

Bro, I almost died in the labour room.

God bless my mom and her family, the late Pastor TB Joshua, my pastors, Mother Earth, and, of course, this song by Sonnie Badu—it kept me going.

Good news 2020: she fell and kpai while bathing her kids in Canada.

May God have mercy on you and accept your soul.
Omoye Ighalo”.

This is surprising as last year, Sonia had made series of posts, praising her ex-husband Jude for being a good father to their kids, and also indulging her cravings. Shutting down claims of trying to win her ex back, she stated that she will post and celebrate him whenever she wants because he is the father of her kids.

Recall that Sonia was married to Jude Ighalo, for almost a decade, but their marriage crashed in 2020.

In 2023, she confirmed her marital stance with Jude, revealing that they separated in 2019 but got back in 2021 and pulled the plug in 2022 without his signature. She claimed that the footballer crawled back again to her and she accepted because of the kids. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out because of his family.

Back in September, last year, she had admonished Jude to collect her bride price as she recounted how her father solely sponsored their traditional marriage.

This came days after she tendered a public apology to him, admitting that ending a relationship or friendship had always been challenging for her. She noted how they both struggled to make the marriage work even in the face of divorce, as she promised to always be there for him

In 2023, Sonia announced that she had found love again, by sharing a photo of her lover, whose face she covered with emoji, and gushing over him. Writing in French, she stated that her man has given her the confidence to believe in love again after the many disappointments she went through.

On Valentine’s Day, Sonia wrote a note to him describing him as her slice of Heaven and her personalised ingredient for looking younger. Sonia praised her boyfriend for making a positive impact in her life while noting that she wasn’t the same person as last year.
