These Chicago Med Characters From The Past Need To Return Like Dr. Sarah Reese

Now that Chicago Med is in the middle of airing its 10th season, the TV show continues to have many dedicated fans. That said, there is also no doubt that some former Chicago Med fans have dropped off and many viewers feel like the show isn’t as great as it once was. It should go without saying that the team behind Chicago Med should want to do everything they can to make the show as great as it once was, or even better.

While that would be a very difficult task for anyone to pull off, there does seem to be a pretty obvious route the show’s producers could take. There are several departed Chicago Med characters whose returns could very quickly make the show better.

Why April Sexton And LCDR. Ethan Choi Need To Return To Chicago Med

During the history of Chicago Med, the show’s fans have seen a lot of couples come and go. The truth of the matter is that many of those couples who are no longer part of the show aren’t missed by the majority of fans.

However, there certainly are some couples that Chicago Med fans would love to see more of.

Easily the best example of that is the undeniable fact that the majority of Chicago Med fans would love to see April Sexton and LCDR. Ethan Choi return to the show. As fans will likely already realize, there are several reasons why seeing Ethan and April make a comeback would be fantastic.

The first reason why most Chicago Med fans would love to see more of April and Ethan is how great they were as a couple.

Chicago Med Needs To Stop Doing This To Dr. Daniel Charles Immediately

Why Chicago Med’s beloved character Dr. Daniel Charles deserves so much better.

There were times when Ethan and April shared a romantic moment, and it really felt like they couldn’t get enough of each other. The most obvious example of that was how joyous their wedding was, as they even laughed at the altar.

On the website Ranker, fans ranked. “The Most Beautiful Women Of The Chicago Med Cast,” and April Sexton’s actor, Yaya DaCosta, took the top spot. In February 2024, NBC included Dr. Ethan Choi’s actor, Brian Tee, in a gallery of “7 Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med Heartthrobs.”

Of course, the fact that Ethan and April’s actors are both so attractive certainly doesn’t hurt things. After all, nobody is going to complain about seeing more of Yaya DaCosta and Brian Tee onscreen.

Arguably the most important reason why April and Ethan would be welcomed back to Chicago Med is their roles in the show’s hospital. There is simply no denying that April and Ethan’s roles in Gaffney Chicago Medical Center are missed on the show now.

In April’s case, in addition to the still-present Maggie Lockwood, she was the face of the hospital’s nursing staff. Fiercely intelligent and fantastic with patients, April served as the perfect character for the doctors to work with during difficult cases.

A veteran of the United States Navy, Ethan brought a level of dedication and precision to the hospital that has been unmatched by other military doctors who’ve worked there. As a result of his firm morals, it was also interesting to see Ethan grapple with sticky medical situations.

Why Dr. Connor Rhodes And Dr. Isidore Latham Need To Return To Chicago Med

When most Chicago Med fans think about the best characters that left the show, Dr. Connor Rhodes comes to mind. Easily one of Chicago Med’s most interesting characters, it is fascinating to think about how much Connor grew.

Chicago Med Has Gone Severely Downhill For This Likely Irreversible Reason

Chicago Med fans have sadly watched the show go downhill because of a trend on the show that likely is irreversible.

Introduced as the rich guy with the famous dad and the tragic background, those aspects of Connor’s character always stuck around. However, as fans got to know Connor better, they learned how interesting he could be when his background was forgotten.

The one potential problem with bringing Dr. Connor Rhodes back might be that the show’s writers would likely have to address how he left the show. Since Connor’s exit involved Dr. Ava Bekker, a character Looper labeled the worst, the show could mostly ignore the specifics. All Connor would have to say was that he found peace while he was away and wanted to return to get back to helping people at the hospital his family had such a major connection to.

An extremely passionate doctor whose devotion to his craft often created drama, Chicago Med needs more of Connor.

If Connor was brought back, it would be a no-brainer to also bring back his former mentor, Dr. Isidore Latham. Easily one of the most talented and interesting Chicago Med characters, there is a strong argument that Dr. Latham may be the show’s most underrated character ever.

It would be wonderful to see Dr. Latham continue to build his professional relationship with Connor and rekindle their friendship. Additionally, seeing Dr. Latham deal with Chicago Med’s other new characters could be delightful.

Why Dr. Crockett Marcel Needs To Return To Chicago Med

Throughout the history of Chicago Med, there have been some extremely likable characters. Fortunately, Chicago Med’s three most lovable characters, Maggie Lockwood, Dr. Daniel Charles, and Sharon Goodwin, remain part of the show. However, Chicago Med’s most charismatic character, Dr. Crockett Marcel, is missed and needs to be brought back as soon as possible.

Between Crockett’s accent, charisma, and obviously good looks, it was clear from the moment he debuted on Chicago Med that the camera and fans loved him. In fact, Crockett was such a great character that he is the only one who was added to the show after the first season who is as missed as the show’s original cast members.

On top of the fact that Crockett was such a great character, there is another reason that it really feels like he needs to return to Chicago Med. Because of Crockett’s charisma, his presence made the other characters he shared scenes with more interesting. That is the kind of thing that Chicago Med really needs back.

As great as it would be to see Crockett return, however, there is.

Operating Room 2.0 always felt like the kind of storyline that was written by people who were seeing headlines about A.I. but didn’t really understand the tech. As a result, that is something that really should be left in the past.
