Cali rapper Tay-K has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for the murder of a young San Antonio man in 2017…his second murder sentence.
Tay-K, real name Taymor McIntire, was initially charged with capital murder after he fatally shot 23-year-old Mark Anthony Saldivar in a San Antonio Chick-fil-A parking lot in April 2017 after the artist tried to rob him. The jury decided to convict him of the lesser charge of murder.
Tay-K, best known for his single “The Race,” was previously convicted of killing 21-year-old Ethan Walker during a 2016 home invasion. He was sentenced to 55 years in prison.
Both sentences will run concurrently.
Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Joe Gonzales stated after the sentence was handed down.
“Whether a person is a celebrity or an everyday individual, their actions have consequences,” his statement read. “The results of this case reflect our office’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that those who repeatedly violate it are held accountable, for the greater good of the community.”
