Suspected Herdsmen K!ll Father And Two Sons In Plateau

A 55-year-old man and his two sons have been killed by suspected herdsmen in Zogu village, Miango District, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

 

The National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Youth Movement, Joseph Chudu Yonkpa, confirmed the incident in a statement in  Jos on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

 

According to the statement, the gunmen launched a brutal attack on Zogu village, resulting in the tragic deaths of three members of the same family: Mr. Weyi Gebe, aged 55 (Father) Mr. Sunday Weyi, aged 25 (Son) and Mr. Henry Weyi, aged 16 (Son).

 

“In a horrific act, Mr. Henry Weyi was beheaded by the Fulani militias,” he stated.

 

“This recent event brings to nine d3aths recorded this week alone. IDA expresses its utmost displeasure on the deteriorating situation in Irigwe land and calls on the security agencies to do whatever is required to halt this barbarism on our land and get perpetrators apprehended to face justice.

 

“The way criminal elements invade our motherland and kill with impunity seems to suggest a more sinister motive than mere reprisals. IDA therefore, calls on the Plateau State government and the security to do the needful and stop the killing of innocent people in Irigwe land.”
