Shallipopi Blasts Headies Organizers After Receiving Only a Handshake Instead of Award Plaque

Nigerian singer, Shallipopi, has publicly slammed the organizers of the 17th edition of the Headies Awards after receiving only a handshake on stage instead of an award plaque.

Recall that Shallipopi had lost the highly debated “Next Rated” award to Odumodublvck but clinched the ‘Best Rap Single of the Year’ for his track “Cast.”

However, when he stepped onto the stage to claim his award, he was met with just a handshake, as the organizers claimed they had run out of plaques.

Fuming with disappointment, Shallipopi took to his Twitter page to express his anger, declaring that he would no longer attend future award ceremonies.

He further stated that he didn’t even desire the ‘Best Rap Single’ award because he does not consider himself a rapper.

In his words:
“The next one if una see me make I bend.
I nor go even lie for una sef, I nor want that award. Give the real rappers wey dey the category. Me, Shallipopi, I nor be rapper.”

His outburst has sparked conversations online about the professionalism of award shows and artists’ recognition.

In other news, Popular Nigerian influencer and media personality, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, has condemned individuals who find joy in the misfortune of others, especially when it comes to marriages.

Taking to his Twitter page, Enioluwa expressed disappointment over how some people eagerly wait for others’ marriages to crash. He described such behavior as “terrible” and questioned why anyone would feel happiness when others are going through sadness.

Labeling them as bitter, Enioluwa advised that anyone who feels triggered by others’ happiness should take time to pray and heal from the bitterness they harbor.

In his words:
“It is a terrible thing to look at two people get married and all that is in your heart is hoping that one day it will go sour for them. Even worse, to actually pick up your phone and type that hate into a comment or a tweet.
If someone else’s happiness triggers sadness or jealousy in you, that’s a clear sign you need to pray and deal with that bitterness. There is a healing you need.
Because truth is — that kind of spirit takes happiness away from your own life.”

His message has resonated with many online, sparking conversations about positivity and self-reflection.
