Lil Durk is moving to have his superseding murder-for-hire indictment dismissed as his legal team alleges that the prosecution falsely accused him of rapping about the incident on one of his sons.
According to Durk’s team, the song was recorded seven months before the killing, and a modified version of the song, which popped up on YouTube, has nothing to do with him.
Durk was indicted last October in connection with an alleged murder-for-hire targeting fellow rapper Quando Rondo, real name Tyquian Bowman. Prosecutors allege Durk placed a bounty on Rondo’s head and paid five OTF affiliates to end his life. The men opened fire on Rondo, but instead, killed his cousin, Lul Pab.
“Evidence collected in this case also shows defendant has allegedly placed monetary bounties to solicit other murders, including a family member of a witness,” prosecutors wrote. “Defendant’s modus operandi is clear: he will use his power, his money, his influence, and any pretrial release to endanger anyone who he perceives as a threat, including witnesses in this case.”
Durk was also hit with a wrongful death lawsuit in connection with the shooting death of Lul Pab. He denies the allegations against him.
