PDP governors to decide on National Secretary, others in Ibadan

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) were in Ibadan on Sunday to discuss issues relating to some developments in the party.

As gathered, the PDP governors will take a position on the National Secretary and National Executive Committee of the party.

The Acting Publicity Secretary of the party in Oyo State, Michael Ogunsina, told The Guardian, on Sunday, that almost all the PDP governors were already in Ibadan.

The governors are expected to commence the meeting with a gala night at 7:00 pm on Sunday at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Oyo State. The meeting continues on Monday.

The meeting came three weeks after the Supreme Court returned Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary of the party against their preference for Sunday Ude-Okoye.

The Supreme Court set aside the decision of the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, delivered on December 20, 2024, which had affirmed Anyanwu’s removal as the National Secretary of the party.

However, Anyanwu and Udeh-Okoye claimed victory and issued separate statements declaring victory immediately after the verdict.
