The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed anger over a campaign billboard bearing the pictures of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Tinubu is the national leader of APC, a major opposition party in Osun while Adeleke is of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

Adeleke is seeking reelection in 2026.

Angered by the campaign pictures, the leadership of the APC in the state described the pairing up of the president and Adeleke on a billboard conspicuously displayed at Ward 12, Iwo Local Government Council Area of the state as fraudulent.

Osun APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, in a statement on Thursday, noted that the billboard bearing the inscription of ‘Continuity of Progress’ sponsored by “a faceless political body scripted as ‘Osun Leaders of Thought’ was sighted early yesterday which probably might have been erected in the early hours of Wednesday.”

According to Olabisi, “This is the absurd playing of dirty politics taken too far as there could not be any acceptable reason for the sponsorship of the fraudulent billboard other than a flagrant display of irreverent attitude orchestrated by political Jews with a mission to compare the sky with the ground.

“We want to tell the whole world that we are vehemently condemning and dissociating our party from the nose and eye sore which exemplified political heresy in the heartland of the core progressive politics in the affected part of the state.

“The masterminds of the controversial billboard succeeded in exposing their lack of tact and diplomacy in the art of the use of stratagem to achieve their targeted political goal through the misuse of propaganda.”

He added that, “One needs not be a wizard to recognize the fact that the fraudulently pairing up of the photographs of President Tinubu with that of the visibly embattled Governor Adeleke in the controversial billboard is sending an indisputable signal to the discerning minds that the political tension being faced by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP-led government in the state is approaching a dangerous dimension of an abysmal loss of popularity within three years of the inglorious PDP governor.

“We want to make it abundantly clear to our esteemed members and numerous supporters that the feigned billboard is a counterfeit which origin did not emanate from us and therefore, should be discountenanced as one of the frivolous antics of the drowning so-called ruling party in the state which can better be described as a display of a roguish political act in a supposed democratic firmament.”
