Love Is Blind's Joey Said Monica Made False Conclusions About His Status With Sara Before They Even Could

Love Is Blind Season 8 had fans feeling sorry for women. And the drama continues as Monica Danús claims that Joey Leveille and Sara Carton are dating, over a year after Monica said no to Joey at the altar. Monica insists that the rumored couple lied to her about it.

Joey recently clarified that he and Sara are strictly friends despite some shared intimacy. But his explanation might have just convinced more people that Monica wasn’t lying about this reality TV drama.

Speaking to Us Weekly on March 21, Joey said that Monica “came to a conclusion” about his relationship with Sara, before they even could. “We’re not dating,” Joey said of his relationship with Sara. “We are seeing each other in that we are good friends and supportive and we hang out, but we’re not dating.”

However, Joey confirmed that “Sara had a conversation with Monica about our [mutual interest] because she wanted to be respectful.”

He didn’t know “the full capacity of that conversation,” so he said “that would be better addressed with Sara.” Joey went on to question the “confusing” part about Monica taking issue with his connection with Sara.

“Monica has been in a relationship since being on the show,” he argued. “So even if Sara and I were dating — this being over a year later — I do not understand the animosity toward me because I would like to date someone at some point and get married at some point.”

Nick and Vanessa Lachey tried to explain the “misogynistic” behavior of this Love Is Blind star.

When asked what he thought upset Monica, Joey answered: “I don’t want to put words in her mouth or speak for how she’s feeling.” He also addressed speculations that he wasn’t genuinely attracted to Monica during the pods.

I was absolutely attracted to her. I don’t know why that keeps going around that I wasn’t,” Joey said. He then reiterated the differences in their “activity levels” and the “thing” with Monica’s sister.

I’m very extroverted. [Monica] didn’t completely like that side of me of being completely an extroverted person,” Joey said. “And obviously the sister thing.”

Joey And Sara Have Previously Kissed Each Other

Joey admitted to having kissed Sara before. But he insisted that they “haven’t even come to a conclusion of whether [they’re] at the capacity to date, but Monica has.” He and Sara are still figuring things out, mainly due to the “mentally draining” attention from social media.

“We have kissed before, which is what kind of sparked this conversation for Sara and I about, ‘Hey, could we see this going somewhere or not?’ That’s where we’re at,'” Joey said of his status with Sara.

Joey added: “We don’t even know ourselves. And it seems like Monica knows more than ourselves.” But then, he also confessed that Sara checks out all the boxes in what he’s looking for in a partner.

“[Sara’s] super caring, super empathetic. She’s a super open-minded person,” Joey said. “She’s super fun, amazing. She’s just an incredible person,” he gushed. “There’s a lot of aspects about her that are amazing.”

Love Is Blind’s Virginia Paid For All Of Devin’s Meals According To Her Friends

Devin had some really bad red flags behind the scenes of Love Is Blind.

Joey and Sara last talked about their relationship in February. “We had a good, healthy conversation. Ultimately, we decided, no, we’re not gonna pursue dating at this time,” he shared. “There’s definitely interest there. I’m not gonna lie about that aspect, but we decided — and still have decided — we’re not pursuing dating in this capacity at this time.”

Contrary to Joey’s version of the story, Monica initially claimed that Sara had told her she was “seeing” Joey. “I’m so sick of the lies. Just own up to it at this point,” Monica told Elite Daily mid-March, adding that she confronted Sara about Joey before the reunion.

“I texted Sara. ‘I’m hearing a lot of things about you and Joey. Is there anything you need to tell me?’ And she called me and said, ‘Nothing’s official, but we are seeing each other.'”

Monica believed that at that point, Joey and Sara had already been seeing each other for at least two months, but that she “wouldn’t be surprised if it was longer.” Monica was particularly hurt by the fact that she “was venting to [Sara] about Joey” while they were already seeing each other, unbeknownst to her.

Love Is Blind’s Sara Reveals Why She Really Turned Ben Down At The Altar: “I Knew Something Was Off”

There were things not covered in the episodes that made up her mind.

Days before that, Sara told Nick Viall on The Viall Files that she and Joey weren’t dating. She also recounted how the two of them became close “friends” or whatever they really are these days. “[Joey] and five other people visited me in Nashville and we called ourselves the ‘Yee-Haw Crew,'” she said.

Sara said no to Ben Mezzenga at the altar. They tried to work things out after the show, but Ben accused Sara of “ghosting” him after her move to Nashville for a travel nurse contract.

Sara said that the group “grew really, really close with each other just because of the support for each other, knowing what we’ve all been through and being able to be there for one another. It’s been super important to me.” She went on to say that she’s “fond” of Joey.

“This whole situation, I’ve felt very close with Joey,” Sara continued. “I’m fond of our relationship, but I [also] feel very well-supported by all those involved. I’m just very grateful that I’ve met him, but, yeah, we definitely have a friendship. We’re definitely not dating.”
