"I don’t want to associate with dark souls" - Gospel singer, Sola Allyson blasts trolls

Sola Allyson, the renowned singer behind “Eji Owuro,” recently opened up about an unsettling encounter she had while driving in Lagos. During a live session on her Instagram, the gospel artist shared the details of her experience with a stranger she had never met before.

Allyson explained that while driving through the Lekki area, she stopped at a traffic light, where another car pulled up beside hers. The driver, a man, unexpectedly winked at her, which left her feeling deeply uncomfortable. She revealed that the gesture made her question herself and her actions.

As a believer in spiritual matters, the singer reflected on the situation, wondering how she might have unknowingly given the man the impression that she was the type of woman who could be approached in such a way. Allyson emphasized the cultural association that a man’s wink often holds, which typically signals an interest in something more intimate. This led her to question how she was perceived by strangers on the road.

In her words:

“There was a day I was driving in Lekki. When we got to the traffic light, a car stopped beside me and it was a guy in the car and he winked at me. When he winked at me, I felt very dirty because I believe in spiritual things. How did I convey the message that I have something to sell because we all know that when a guy winks at a lady, we know what it means. I don’t like it. I wasn’t dressing in a way that would make anybody think in that way. I felt small, I felt little, I felt insulted.”
